With a vast array of international experience serving the needs of impoverished communities, Sibusiso's dedicated group of volunteers emanate from the medical, pharmaceutical, business, education, human rights and humanitarian fields.


Brigid (Deedee) Schiano, LICSW, Sibusiso U.S. Program Director, is presently working as a consultant for Sibusiso and has over 11 years of experience in the HIV/AIDS field as a clinician. Her areas of expertise are HIV/AIDS, substance abuse, trauma, women’s issues, homelessness, adherence, advocacy and program management.

Francisca Benedict, Sub Saharan African Program Advisor, is presently  working for Cambridge Cares About AIDS as a Case Manager at a residential program for women living with HIV and she is a a community speaker for Gilead Sciences.

Cory McMahon, Co Program Director, Boston Bridging Program, Cory is currently attending Simons College in Boston for a degree as a Family Nurse Practitioner. She has spent the past 3 months in KwaZulu Natal South Africa, where she developed and implemented a peer education program for adolescents in local schools in the Edendale township, outside of Pietermeritzburg South Africa.  Previously Cory worked as a research assistant in the Infectious Disease Unit at Massachusetts General Hospital.

Meghan Geary, BA, South African Program Director, Previously a Clinical Research Assistant and HIV Medical Education Coordinator at Massachusetts General Hospital’s Infection Disease Unit. Since July, 2006 Meghan has been working in the Kwazulu Natal South Africa at the Umndeni Care Program and is coordinating an evaluation of a youth HIV prevention program. As a consultant for Sibusiso, Meghan is involved with both the mBizana and Durban programs, specifically interfacing with the Mahlungulu Foundation and the Izimbali Zesizwe Feeding Program.
